Issue/Introduction

  • In NSX Manager, you may see the failed transport node with an error similar to the below;

  • Check the cluster compliance status from vCenter inventory > click on the impacted cluster > Updates and you may see the warning similar to the following;

  • Go to the vCenter cluster and remediate impacted host from Actions under the Updates tab and you may see the sub task which is failing.

  • vmkping will not be working from the impacted host to other hosts in cluster.

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

In a vLCM cluster if there is no connectivity between hosts over vMotion vmk interfaces, vSAN health check fails and it will lead to NSX install failure.

Resolution

Fix the issue with vMotion connectivity of impacted host and then retry cluster remediation

If you believe you have encountered this issue and unable to resolve, please open a support case with Broadcom Support.

For more information, see Creating and managing Broadcom support cases.

Additional Information

Note: VSAN health check has multiple categories so you may see a sub task failure for checks other than vMotion and in that case resolution depends on the task which is failing
