Issue/Introduction

This article provides the information about the password requirements when creating vCenter Server Appliance local user accounts.

Environment

vCenter Server 8.0

Resolution

The password requires following: 

1. Must have at least six characters.
2. Contain at least one upper case letter.
3. Contain at least one lower case letter.
4. Contain at least one number.
5. Contain at least one non-alphanumeric character.
6. No dictionary words are allowed.
