Applying perpetual and subscription VMware Live Site Recovery licenses together at the same site

Issue/Introduction

This article explains how to apply perpetual and subscription VMware Live Site Recovery (vLSR) licenses together in the same site if you have both perpetual and subscription licenses which are unable to be merged. 

Environment

VMware Live Site Recovery 9.0
VMware Live Site Recovery 9.0.1
VMware Live Site Recovery 9.0.2

 

 

Resolution

1. Deploy a couple of VLSR Appliance instances to the same site. 
2. Configure the deployed VLSR instances with independent settings below. 

- Site name 
- Local host 
- Extension ID

3. Apply either of perpetual or subscription license to VLSR instances separately. 

Note: Individual virtual machine must be protected by only either of VLSR instances.
