Issue/Introduction

An end-user is getting the error
TSS7250E ACCESS DENIED TO OTRAN <DQRY>.  

They also see the following error:  
DFH2033 16:25:59 CICSCLET YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO USE TRANSACTION DQRY. 
CHECK THAT THE TRANSACTION NAME IS CORRECT

What is wrong with the user or with the transaction?

Resolution

The user was not permitted to issue the online transaction DQRY.

For CA Top Secret, issue the command:

TSS PER(acid) OTRAN(DQRY)

     Where:  acid is the USERID or PROFILE acid

The PERMIT statement above only applies to CA TopSecret security.  CA ACF2 and IBM RACF have other methods for adding permissions.
