Issue/Introduction

When running a CXX report in DBUTLTY job to test my new release level, we are getting this error:

DB13001E - UNEXPECTED RETURN CODE 94 (200) CXX NAME MISMATCH SU/MU

We are testing the new CARS release in DBUTLTY, but kept the former level (6 months old) in the MUF.

Cause

Occasionally, having mismatched levels can produce errors because of changes to programs made in the newer release.

Resolution

There could be many reasons for receiving the RC 94(200), but in the case of running the MUF and DBUTLTY at different release levels, there could be a program in the new release causing the problem.

For example, a change was made to a DBUTLTY module that was part of CARS 2510, so running MUF on Pre-CARS 2510 and DBUTLTY on Post-CARS 2510 will produce this error due to a key data field being at a different program offset.

Before reporting this error as a problem in the new release, we recommend running the MUF and the failing program at the same, matched release level. If the process then runs successfully, you will need to update the MUF to this higher level before continuing your rollout.
