Issue/Introduction

This article explains what to do when the Usage Meter Web UI displays "Expired Certificate" as the status of a registered vCenter Server.

Environment

Usage Meter 9.x

Cause

Either the machine SSL certificate on the registered vCenter Server has expired, or the certificate was renewed on the vCenter Server but not in Usage Meter.

Resolution

First, verify that the vCenter Server Machine SSL certificate has been renewed. If it has not, renew it.
For information on how to check the certificate status and renew it, refer to the following document:
* vCert - Scripted vCenter expired certificate replacement

After confirming that the vCenter Server Machine SSL certificate is renewed, follow the steps below:

  1. Select the vCenter Server on the below in the Usage Meter Web UI and click [Edit].

  2. If the password or other settings for the vCenter Server have not changed, click [Save] without making any modifications.

  3. Click [PLEASE ACCEPT CERTIFICATE] and [ACCEPT] to acknowledge the new certificate.
