Issue/Introduction

Cause

limitation of Kafka agent/monitor

Resolution

Cluster metric that have been configured to get an alert on is not getting value for overall cluster but individual Kafka broker. There are 3 Kafka brokers and thus when checking the broker "Kafka Active Controller Count" value, it can be 1 or 0 based on the status of individual Kafka broker status.

As a workaround, we suggest to make adjustment on the alert side where if the aggregated metrics are 1 during 5 minutes period, then do not alert.
