Alarm : Transport Node Uplink Down is seen on NSX manager but the uplinks remain healthy

Issue/Introduction

• Alarm "Transport node uplink down" is seen on NSX GUI but no issues observed with the uplinks on the ESXi hosts. This issue is observed for two ESXi hosts only on a cluster. The uplinks are configured as LAG

• This alarm remains active in the NSX UI even after a Link Aggregation Group (LAGG) is successfully removed from both the NSX uplink profile and VMware vCenter. While the affected Transport Nodes show a healthy status and operational uplinks, the NSX Manager dashboard incorrectly displays a persistent alarm for those hosts.

VMware NSX 4.x

VMware NSX 9.0.1.0

Resolution

If such stale alarms are seen only on NSX GUI or API and no actions on uplinks (like uplink going down/up or flapping is observed):

Workaround 1:

Restart the services on the ESXi hosts using the command and verify if the alarm is in resolved state:

services.sh restart

Workaround 2:

Set the host in maintenance mode and reboot the ESXi host 

After the host is rebooted, exit maintenance mode and deploy or migrate VMs to the ESXi host, and now the alarm should be in resolved state
