Issue/Introduction

This KB explains the setting in vCenter Server alarm configurations to repeat sending SNMP traps until they are acknowledged or reset to green.

Environment

vCenter Server 7.0

Resolution

In the vSphere Client, select the vCenter Server name -> Configure -> Alarm Definitions -> select the target alarm, and click Edit.
In the alarm rule configuration screen, enable "Send SNMP traps" and check the "Repeat" checkbox that appears on the right side.

Send SNMP traps ( o) [x] Repeat

In the alarm review screen, set a value of 1 (minute) or more in the following setting that appears at the bottom.
If it remains 0 (minutes), the action will not repeat.

Repeat actions every 0 minute(s) until acknowledged or reset to green
