How to remove a datacenter object from the vCenter Server

Issue/Introduction

This article provides the steps to remove a datacenter object from the vCenter Server's inventory.

Environment

vCenter Server 8.0

Resolution

In the vSphere Client, 

1. Right-click the target datacenter
2. Select "Delete"
3. A confirmation dialog below will appear. As shown in the dialog, note that deleting a datacenter also deletes all the datacenter's alarms and removes all the datacenter's hosts and virtual machines from the inventory.
   
   Review the dialog contents and select "YES"
