Issue/Introduction

Question:

Why is it that the smtransactionid is not logged in to IIS logs even though we enabled the appendiisserverlog option with Windows 2008 R2 (IIS 7.x)?

The same option is working well with old win2k3 server (IIS 6.0)

Environment:

Web Server Version: IIS 7.5

Web Server OS & Bit version: Windows 2008 R2

SiteMinder Web Agent Version: 12.52 SP1 CR3

Answer:

The reason for this is that the behaviour has changed from IIS6.0 to IIS7.X

Transaction ID is not printed in logs because of the design change in IIS 7.X

The transactionID is only written to the resource accessed before the login process. Once logged in, the refresh of the target resource does not show the TransactionID in the IIS log.
