User authentication issue using MS EntraID and Symantec VIP

Issue/Introduction

On January 12, 2026, at 06:30 PM PDT, the VIP team was notified of expired credentials via VIP monitoring systems. 
Below error is observed in the logs:

The provided client secret keys for app '{identifier}' are expired. Visit the Azure portal to create new keys for your app: https://aka.ms/NewClientSecret, or consider using certificate credentials for added security: https://aka.ms/certCreds.

Cause

The production OIDC client credential reached its scheduled expiration date. The renewal was successfully applied in one region but failed to propagate to the secondary region. The issue was caused by an inconsistency in the credential propagation mechanism between regions.

Resolution

Production OIDC client credential renewal was sync between the regions to address the issue.
