Issue/Introduction

  • vCenter Pre-Update check during upgrade or patching vCenter server fails with error: "Source ESX Agent Manager Configuration contains URLs that are not trusted by the System!"



  • A stale agency is determined in the ESX Agent Manager with respect to NSX vibs, even though NSX is not in use in the environment. 

Environment

vCenter 8.x

Cause

There is a stale ESX Agency in the vSphere ESX Agent Manager (EAM).

Resolution

To resolve the issue, delete the stale agency from vSphere ESX Agent Manager (EAM) 

  1. From the vSphere Client, select the Administration
  2. Under Solutions, click the vCenter Server Extensions
  3. Select the vCenter Server Extension named vSphere ESX Agent Manager 
  4. Click on Configure and select the respective ESX Agency 
  5. After determining the Agency details and confirming the VIB URLs in the "issue" section select Delete Agency
