Cause

This article identifies the specific component binaries required for a successful upgrade to VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.1. The requirements vary depending on whether you are upgrading the Primary VCF Instance (where fleet components are deployed) or Additional VCF Instances

Resolution

Please ensure following binaries are downloaded before installing the VCF Management components Primary VCF Instance (First Instance Upgraded) The Primary Instance (or the first instance in the upgrade sequence) serves as the host for the Fleet Management components. Consequently, it requires a comprehensive set of binaries to support centralized orchestration and shared services.

Required Binaries:

1. Fleet Lifecycle

2. SDDC Lifecycle

3. VCF Services Runtime

4. Salt RaaS

5. Salt Master

6. VCF Identity Broker

7. Software Depot

8. Telemetry

9. License Server

For all subsequent VCF instances within the fleet, a reduced set of binaries is required.
