Host remediation fails with "No updates available for remediation" error message

Issue/Introduction

Host remediation fails with "No updates available for remediation" message as in the screenshot below :

Environment

vCenter 7.x

ESXi 7.x

Cause

Remediating a host directly without scanning the host might not copy the upgrade files locally on the ESXi hosts.

Resolution

Below are the steps that was performed to resolve the issue :

1. Navigate to the host.
2. Click the updates tab for the host.
3. Select baselines tab -> attach the baseline.
4. In the compliance information panel - Click 'Check Compliance'.
5. Click 'Remediate' -> Select the host to be remediated from the hosts list and click remediate.
6. Host was remediated successfully.
