Issue/Introduction

The nightly RiskFabric Processing job is logging a staging error specific to an impersonation failure when testing an Active Directory (AD) linked server:

Error Msg: Linked servers cannot be used under impersonation without a mapping for the impersonated login.

Environment

Release : 6.x

Component : Active Directory Import Utility

Cause

The Information Centric Analytics (ICA) service account is not assigned the sysadmin SQL Server role and has not been granted all of the privileges documented in the following section of the Symantec ICA Administrator Guide:

Permission Settings for the ICA Service Account Outside of Using the SQL Server sysadmin Role

Resolution

Either assign the ICA service account the sysadmin role in SQL Server or grant the account the privileges documented in the Symantec ICA Administrator Guide.

If the service account is properly configured and you still encounter this error message, ensure no local server login to remote server login mappings have been defined for the linked server by editing the linked server's properties, navigating to the Security page, and removing any accounts that have been mapped.
