Issue/Introduction

System VMs (e.g., vCLS VMs) are being considered as workloads in Distributed Firewall POV report. The workload count is more than the actual workload count because system VMs are counted.

Environment

Security Services Platform 5.0/5.1

Cause

The workload count includes system-owned VMs because the system currently cannot differentiate between workload VMs and system VMs. This results in an inflated workload count that exceeds the actual number of workload VMs. Refer to the screenshot below illustrating the workload count shown in the Distributed Firewall POV report. In SSP 5.1, this number may appear inflated as system-owned VMs are included in workload calculations.

Resolution

This issue will be addressed in an upcoming release where the system will be enhanced to automatically differentiate between workload VMs and system-owned VMs.
