Issue/Introduction

While attempting to import an existing VCF / Aria Operations deployment via Fleet Management >> Lifecycle >> Components, the import task fails during this Inventory Sync or Infrastructure Validation phases.

The following Error codes are observed in the UI:

  • LCMCOMMON80049: "An error occurred while communicating with the vCenter server. Ensure the vCenter is reachable and credentials are valid."
  • LCMVROPCONFIG20066: "Failed to resolve the FQDN for one or more VCF Operations nodes. The primary node address is not reachable or cannot be validated."

Environment

VCF Operations 9.x

Resolution

  1. To resolve error LCMVROPCONFIG20066:
Ensure that each VCF Operations node has valid DNS records.
It may also be necessary to set the hostname of each node to the FQDN of the node by following the KB: How to change a node hostname in Aria Operations

  2. To resolve Error LCMCOMMON80049:
Contact Broadcom Support for assistance as this requires database changes providing the following KB as reference: Need steps to update Load Balancer FQDN for VCF Operations in the Fleet Management > Lifecycle > Components page
