Issue/Introduction

Is there a way to prevent an alert when a multiple CPU device has only one CPU breaches a threshold but the others are still within spec? Is there a way to configure profiles to do that kind of logical evaluation?

Environment

Resolution

This is an RFE.  Currently in Portal you can create threshold profiles with aggregation or no aggregation on the event rules

Aggregation Options

When configuring an Event Rule within a threshold profile, you can select from the following values:

  • No Aggregation (Default): The threshold violation event is raised based on the metrics of each individual component.

  • Aggregate Components by Device: The threshold violation event is raised based on the aggregate (combined) value of all relevant components for that specific device.

There is no logic to say don't create a threshold event if one CPU breaches on a device, but create one if two breach
