Java MVS Agent Jobs in Ended_Vanished as temp file is missing with error U00029003

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading the new Java MVS Agent to 24.4.2 HF2, all jobs launched result in Ended Vanished with the following error U00029003 in the log:

06.11.2025 15:50:12 U00029003 Cannot open file 'SYSH.UC4.TEMP.OAACKCAA.TXT', error code 'n/a', error description: 'com.ibm.jzos.ZFileException //'SYSH.UC4.TEMP.OAACKCAA.TXT': fopen() failed; EDC5049I The specified file name could not be located.; errno=49 errno2=0xc00b0641 last_op=50 errorCode=0x21708'.
06.11.2025 15:50:12 U00011000 'REPORT' (RunID: '0001091065') could not be started on 'AGENT_NAME'. See next message.

After further check, this was 

Environment

Agent Java MVS 24.4.x

Cause

DE180058: before 24.4.3 HF1, the agent Java MVS would start even if the following permission was not granted "APF authorization for the ucxjase executable".

After granting it, the issue was solved.

Resolution

Please add the APF authorization for the ucxjase executable.

Additionally, a fix was added in the agent that will prevent the startup in case this authorization is missing:

Update to a fix version listed below or a newer version if available.

Public Description: A problem has been solved where Java based z/OS Agent starts with a setup where Authorized Service Executor (ucxjase) is not APF authorized.
