Issue/Introduction

Based on the events captured in VMware Aria Operations for Logs, the following is observed :

“Cannot login [email protected]”, indicating an invalid username or password"

Event Description:
A login attempt was made using an unknown or invalid username, or an incorrect password.

Current Assessment:
The source IP 10.132.203.100 is associated with VMware HCX Manager (VM: MYACBUHCXDST01).
This suggests the failed authentication attempts are likely due to invalid or outdated credentials configured on the HCX Manager.

Environment

vCenter 8.x 

Cause

The vCenter password is not updated properly in the VMwareHCX Manager.

 

Resolution

Log in to the HCX Connector at https://<IP ADDRESS>:9443 with a user assigned the Admin role.
Select the Configuration tab.
In the left pane, select vCenter server.
On the vCenter Server page, click Edit.
In the Password text box, enter the new password and click Save.
