Step-by-Step Visual Workflow Guide to Set Up vCenter HA

Issue/Introduction

This article is intended to complement the official documentation, Configure vCenter HA With the vSphere Client, by providing a visual walkthrough of the vCenter HA configuration process.

Please read the official documentation and use this article as a supplement.

 

Resolution

1. In the vSphere Client, select the vCenter Server instance at the top of the inventory hierarchy.
2. Navigate to Configure > Settings > vCenter HA.
3. Click SET UP VCENTER HA.
   
   
   
   
4. On the [Select vCenter HA for Active node] wizard, select the port group to be used for the vCenter HA network.
   
   
   
5. Click EDIT and follow the wizard to specify the deployment destination, computing resources, storage, and network for both the Passive and Witness nodes.
   
   
   
6. Click NEXT to configure the IP addresses for the vCenter HA network for each node.
   
   
   
   
   
7. Click FINISH.
8. Wait for the setup process to complete.
   
   
   
   
9. Once completed, the vCenter HA status will be displayed as "Healthy."
