Issue/Introduction

When migrating a Windows VM with HCX OS assist you get the following error in HCX UI:

"Migration is likely to fail because of the presence of registry keys with .bak suffix under SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\ProfileList in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE."

Cause

This is a Windows OS level issue.

Resolution

Contact Microsoft to get assistance to fix profile issue before attempting an OS Migration.
