Issue/Introduction

• Changing the root password via the UI fails with "LCMCOMMON80050" and "BAD PASSWORD" error as shown below.

Environment

VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.18.x

Cause

The Aria Suite Lifecycle Appliance enforces a password policy.
Any password that does not meet the following requirements results in an error:

• At least 1 uppercase letter
• At least 1 lowercase letter
• At least 1 number
• At least 1 symbol
• A total of at least 8 characters
• At least 4 characters different from the previous password

Resolution

Provide a new password that complies with the requirements listed above.
