Issue/Introduction

In the vSphere Client, it's failed to change the the VMNIC configuration on a virtual switch in below scenario:

  • Add a VMNIC to the virtual switch then
  • Remove another VMNIC from the same virtual switch

Both the newly added and the removed VMNICs are removed from the teaming policy of the port groups.

Then the task was reverted.

Environment

VMware ESXi 8.0

Cause

There was an issue with the teaming policy of port groups.

The cache of the hostd service might not be up-to-date after a VMNIC was added to the virtual switch.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in the VMware ESXi 8.0 Update 3e (Build 24674464)
