Issue/Introduction

DELL server may report a critical warning on server UI as below.

A critical diagnostic event occurred in the memory device at B4. Contact your service provider for assistance in replacing the device. (Extended ID: 0x4E41).

Environment

vSphere ESXi 8.x

vSphere ESXi 9.x

Cause

The issue or warning caused due to hardware. Refer the TSR logs showing the below events.

logs/iDRACDebug.txt:Description: A critical diagnostic event occurred in the memory device at B4. Contact your service provider for assistance in replacing the device. (Extended ID: 0x4E41).
logs/iDRACDebug.txt:Description: A critical diagnostic event occurred in the memory device at B4. Contact your service provider for assistance in replacing the device. (Extended ID: 0x4E42).

Resolution

In order to resolve the issue, please work with hardware vendor as this may require memory module correction.
