Issue/Introduction

FT Status showing Starting when all nodes are in Maintenance

[<User>@<Host> ~]$ consulkv
Mon Jan  5 14:58:26 UTC 2026
control/<DA1_NAME>:MAINTENANCE
control/<DA2_NAME>:MAINTENANCE
failover/daservice/lock:
failover/daservice/status:a26ea36a-1472-4c15-8f14-e667c1ba439c:<DA1_NAME>:STARTING:1764765190948

I rebooted all servers including the Proxy servers after OS patching

It should be 'STOPPED' instead of 'STARTING'

Environment

All supported Network Observability DX NetOps Perfomance Management environments running Fault Tolerant Data Aggregator systems

Resolution

The consulkv command is an internal undocumented script used by the software. It's not intended for status checks on the DA in a FT DA environment.

The state seen represents the last state change attempted on the DAs.

It woesn't necessarily change when the MAINTENANCE state is set to STOPPED.

The state will not impact DA functionality. The DA's should be able to be started (dadaemon activate) or stopped (dadaemon maintenance) without issue despite the state not changing to STOPPPED.
