Issue/Introduction

Unable to add USB 2.0 device to Windows 2019 VM after moving to HPE Gen 11 & the error : “Unknown USB Device (Invalid Device Descriptor)” is seen inside the Windows VM.

Environment

VMware ESXi 7.x

VMware ESXi 8.x

Cause

USB 2.0 controller isn’t supported in HPE G11 for Windows 2019 OS.

Resolution

Should use a supported USB device.
