Changing timezone in the SDDC manager

Issue/Introduction

The time zone configured on the SDDC Manager appliance cannot be modified through the user interface. The change must be performed using the command line interface (CLI).

Environment

 

VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 4.x

VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 5.x

 

Resolution

1. SSH into the SDDC Manager appliance using an SSH client.

2. Become the root user using the below command 

su -

3. List available time zones to find the correct official name using the below command 

timedatectl list-timezones

4. Set the new time zone using the timedatectl command

timedatectl set-timezone [Your/Timezone]

# Example: timedatectl set-timezone America/New_York

5. Verify the change by checking the current date and time settings
