The vSphere Alarm feature is not intended to monitor the service health of the vCenter node. This is because the services responsible for triggering alarm conditions operate within the vCenter itself. These alarms are intended to report conditions of the nodes within the vSphere environment, the ESXi Hosts, the VMs.
