VCF Operations VMware Aria Operations (formerly vRealize Operations) 8.x

Issue/Introduction

  • Application Monitoring is not being configured on the RHEL-based guest OS because the Telegraf agent has stopped collecting data, resulting in application metrics not being populated and no graphs being displayed.
  • Data is retrieved briefly after the agent installation completes.

  • After some time, the process stopped due to a Jolokia path-related error.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

  • The issue occurred because the required sudo permissions were not configured for the arcuser account to access and copy the jolokia.war file from the plugins directory to the webapps directory. As a result, Jolokia-based plugins failed to initialize.
  • Due to these missing permissions, ARC users were unable to monitor JVM-based applications using the Jolokia framework.

Resolution

The fix has been incorporated into Aria Operations version 8.18.6, which is tentatively scheduled for release by the end of February 2026.
