Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Following error is observed when taking backups using Networker backup solution:
  
  "NSR VMware proxy is not available for datastore <Datastore_name>"
  
  
• This error is observed on NetWorker Management Console.

Environment

VMware vCenter 8.x

EMC Networker

Cause

• The issue occurs when vProxy Appliance (used for Networker Backup solution) unable to access datastores on which VMs to be backed up are located.
  
  
• Refer following DellEMC document:
  NVP-vProxy: VM backups are failing - NSR VMware proxy is not available for datastore using transport mode 'Hotadd' in vCenter

Resolution

Engage EMC Networker Support to triage the issue as per following documentation:
