Is the "Oracle Java Standard Edition (SE) Critical Patch Update" patch required for Service Desk Manager to work correctly?
Will there be any effects on the SDM if this is removed?
Service Desk Manager 17.4.x
Out of the box, SDM uses Eclipse Adoptium/AdoptOpenJDK vesions (Oracle Java is not supported/certified).
Oracle Java Standard Edition (SE) Critical Patch Update patch is NOT required for CA ServiceDesk Manager 17.4 to work OK.
Furthermore, you can reference the /NX_ROOT/NX.env file for the following variable:
@NX_JRE_INSTALL_DIR
This variable will tell you the location of the Java being used for SDM.
It should be safe to remove the Oracle Java Standard Edition Critical Patches as SDM does not use Oracle Java by default, but we recommend taking a snapshot before removing this patch just to be safe.
