vCert Tool is showing unknown under ESXi Certficate status for Machine SSL and SPS Service Connection

Issue/Introduction

Running the vCert tool to verify ESXi Certificate Status is showing unknown for the last 2 items in the check, Machine SSL Check and SPS Service Connection

Environment

• vCenter 8.X
• ESXi 8.X

Cause

This can be caused by security hardening and disabling the vpxuser shell access as outlined in KB396941

Resolution

To verify that the certs are correct/verified per the vCert tool, reverse the disablement.
