Aria Operations alerts for unsupported MTU/VLANs cannot be canceled without re-appearing

Issue/Introduction

At least one of the following Alerts are present in Aria Operations:

• The MTU for the Distributed Switch is not allowed by one or more VLANs on the host
• One or more VLANs are unsupported by the physical switch

These alarms will re-appear if canceled in Aria Operations.

 

Environment

• VMware Aria Operations
• VMware vCenter Server

Cause

The VDS health check had been enabled in vCenter and identified inconsistencies in the configuration.  

The VDS health check is intended as a diagnostic tool, and the results do not clear when the health check is disabled.

Aria is importing the VDS health check results again after the alerts have been canceled.

Resolution

Address the underlying configuration issue(s) to clear the warnings from vCenter and Aria Operations.
