Does Endevor still continue to function after license key expiry?
Is there some kind of grace period after the expiry before a key is required?
EndevorĀ®
Any supported release.
Per Endevor techdocs page: EndevorĀ® 19.0 > Installing > Prepare for Installation > Address Common Components and Services Requirements, all Broadcom Mainframe software products are licensed via LMP keys under the control of the Commons Services and Components "Resource Initialization Manager" (CAIRIM).
When the key expires warning messages are issued but they do not interrupt product usage and there is no time limit.
This is stated on this CCS doc page: Common Components and Services for z/OS 15.0 > Administrating > Resource Initialization Manager (CAIRIM) > LMP and CAIRIM
Under section How LMP Works:
"...
After the messages are issued, the product continues operation. The enforcement software ensures that a product under the control of LMP is not interrupted for the following reasons:
- Expiration dates
- Improper license keys
- Changes in the CPU on which LMP is running"
