Issue/Introduction

  • After launching /usr/Spectrum/bin/SCP and clicking the "Location Server" button under Settings, the "Backup Main LS Host" and "Backup Main LS Port" fields were blank post upgrade
  • The following entries in /usr/Spectrum/LS/.locrc on each SS server had disappeared after upgrade.
    • BACKUP_MAIN_LOCATION_HOST_NAME=
    • BACKUP_MAIN_LOCATION_SOCKET_NUMBER=

Environment

All supported Spectrum release.

Resolution

Those entries are no longer needed and should not be added back in.

Note: While it has not been removed from the actual code it was removed from the files because it is no longer needed.  The locserver will automatically determine the backup MLS by landscape handle and precedence of the MLS. This is then populated throughout all locservers so it will be consistent.
