Service Mesh Tunnel Status "Down", Tunnel Details "Up", and all Service Mesh Services "Down"

Issue/Introduction

• Following an upgrade to HCX version 4.11.3, an existing Service Mesh IX appliance is reporting a Tunnel status in a "Down" state however the Tunnel details are reporting Tunnel Status as "Up"

 

• All services in the Service Mesh reporting a "Down" state with Red indicator next to the service in the Service Mesh

• When Attempting to modify the Service Mesh in Connector appliance:

  • Service Mesh modification failed. Process Service Mesh failed. Redeploy check failed. Appliance Name: ####-###-########-#####-##-###-#########-IX-##, Blocking Service: ReplicationTransferService, Reason: Operation not allowed as appliance has ongoing Bulk Migrations.

 

 

Environment

HCX Manager 4.11.3

Resolution

• Redeploy the IX appliance for the Service Mesh in the Cloud HCX Manager
  • Confirm Tunnel status following redeployment
  • Confirm all configured services now have a green indicator status on the Service Mesh
• Resync Service Mesh from the connector appliance 
• Re-try Mobility Group creation and sync
