Issue/Introduction

When attempting to access your VMware Cloud Director portal at https://<VIP FQDN>/provider an error is returned that the connection is reset or the address is unavailable.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

Only one cell is enabled in the loadbalancer pool, and that cell has a failed vmware-vcd service. This can be verified by checking /opt/vmware/vcloud-director/logs/cell.log for the service starting up completely.

Resolution

Enable the other active cells in the loadbalancer pool and disable the failed pool member until the vmware-vcd service is active.
