VMware SDDC Manager

Issue/Introduction

  • The image below shows an incompatibility message in SDDC Manager that may be displayed when attempting to Validate Selection for desired builds of various VMware software components:

  • Normally these messages provide accurate information about the interoperability of the software at the checked versions. In some cases, this may appear to be inaccurate.
  • In the example images above, the desired patch of vCenter Server to version 8.0.3.00700 (8.0U3h) is said to not be available due to incompatibility with NSX 4.2.3.2, which was not correct. Those specific versions should work properly now and not show this alert, but this can apply to other combinations.

Cause

  • If the selected versions of the products being checked are not compatible, this message would accurately reflect that.
  • If the product versions should be compatible but SDDC Manager displays this information stating that they are not, there may be an update missing in the Product Interoperability Matrix

Resolution

If the Broadcom Product Interoperability Matrix is suspected to be inaccurate, open a support case and reference this article.
