SDDC Workload Domain deletion workflow task “Release Allocated ESXi Hosts IP Addresses” failed

Issue/Introduction

Message: “Failed to release ESXi Host(s) IPs to network pool”.

• IP addresses of the ESX hosts that were listed as having problems releasing IPs are no longer listed in SDDC manager.

• The deleted Workload Domain is no longer listed in SDDC manager.

• Task fails when restarted.

Cause

The NSX manager node(s) were decommissioned prior to deleting the Workload domain that was using them. 

• The task is unable to complete due to the NSX manager nodes no longer accessible.

Resolution

With the SDDC database confirmed clean, there is no need for the task to complete. The task should be deleted as it will not be able to complete.
