This KB article addresses common questions raised regarding iOS platform support and SDK versioning information observed during DDNA iOS SDK integration and testing.
Specifically, it clarifies:
The minimum supported iOS version requirement: MinimumOSVersion: 15.5. Is iOS 15.5 truly a requirement for the SDK, or can it run on iOS 14?
A version mismatch observed in the Info.plist file: CFBundleShortVersionString Mismatch (8.3.6 vs 8.4.1). However, version 8.4.1 was referenced in prior discussions. Is this a mistake or an oversight in the Info.plist file?
Advanced Authentication 9.1.5 DDNA iOS SDK
Apple now considers iOS 14 obsolete. All devices capable of running iOS 14 are also eligible to upgrade to iOS 15 or later. In alignment with Apple’s platform lifecycle and support policy:
The AA / DDNA SDK officially supports iOS 15.5 and above
iOS 14 is no longer supported by the SDK
The following iOS versions are supported:
iOS 15.5
iOS 16
iOS 17
iOS 18
iOS 26 (GA, GA-4)
This behavior is by design.
No fix is required on the DDNA SDK side
Customers should align their application’s minimum OS requirement with iOS 15.5 or later
Yes, there is a version mismatch in the Info.plist file.
The version shown (8.3.6) does not reflect the intended release version (8.4.1)
This is a labeling issue only and does not affect any functional SDK behavior
The mismatch will be corrected in an upcoming SDK release
Customers may continue using the current DDNA SDK for development and testing
No reconfiguration or workaround is required
The DDNA iOS SDK intentionally enforces a minimum iOS version of 15.5 to remain aligned with Apple’s supported platforms. Additionally, a cosmetic version mismatch in the Info.plist file has been identified and will be resolved in a future release, with no impact on functionality.
