Issue/Introduction

After deploying the Aria Operations management pack for the aggregator, multiple symptoms are observed in the environment.

  • The out-of-the-box metric Property|Hardware|vendorModel initially did not appear in the UI, although was visible in the API calls on the Aggregator. Having rebooted the Aggregator cluster they are now appearing as 'Template' in the Aggregator UI, but are still visible under the API as the correct vendorModel resourcekey.

  • Some specified properties are being collected, whilst others are not, although all are available on the target child Aria Operations. Log files do not indicate why some are collected and some are not.

  • Supermetrics are identified as SM_<UUID>, and are ignoring the labels="Supermetric name" configuration in the config file, meaning all supermetrics are only visible in the UI as the SM UUID, making them unreadable.

Environment

8.18.x

Aggregator mgmt. pack : 2.1

Cause

  1. The same nameKey appears to be incorrectly used for both the template resource group and the vendor version property within this table. This duplication may be causing incorrect display name mapping.

  2. The default configuration file supports this suggestion, as it does not contain any metric or property defined under the template resource group, which strongly indicates a mapping error.

Resolution

The issue will be resolved in Aria Operations version 8.18.6. The fix is expected to be available by the "end of January."
