Issue/Introduction

Unable to delete Virtual Server on NSX Manager as it fails with the error:

Error: Cannot delete group [/infra/domains/defaut/groups/NLB.VIP.[] due to following entities either lie in the group subtree or are being referred to by the group. Please delete - [[/infra/ipfix-dfw-profiles/Global]] in order to delete the group. (Error code: 500324)

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

The group associated with the Virtual Server is linked to an IPFIX profile and since these objects are still being linked to the IPFIX profile, NSX does not allow you to delete the Virtual Server until the group binding to IPFIX profile is removed.

Resolution

Disable data flow from VRNi.

Steps to disable data source from VRNi

  • Access the VRNi platform
  • Go to Settings>Accounts and Data Sources> Click on the affected NSX manager and toggle off Data Collection.
  • Wait for 30 minutes and then check if the IPFIX profile is deleted from NSX Manager UI by going to NSX Manager>Plan and troubleshoot>IPFIX>Firewall IPFIX profiles.

If it does not work, please reach out to Broadcom Support. Please refer: Creating and managing Broadcom support request (SR) cases
