vLCM Precheck completed.

A message appeared indicating that multiple issues were found on a specific host: '## issues on host HOST_NAME'

Details:

  • Virtual machine 'VM_NAME' running on host 'HOST_NAME' reported an issue preventing maintenance mode: The operation is not allowed in the current state.

  • Virtual machine 'VM_NAME' running on host 'HOST_NAME' reported an issue preventing maintenance mode: Failed to move a VM out of the maintenance mode candidate host because the VM is in manual mode.

  • Host 'HOST_NAME' reported an issue preventing maintenance mode: The operation is not allowed in the current state.

  • Host 'HOST_NAME' reported an issue preventing maintenance mode: The host cannot enter maintenance mode because DRS is not in fully automated mode for the cluster.

  • DRS reported issues that prevent host 'HOST_NAME' from entering maintenance mode.

Cause

DRS is not set to Fully Automated, which prevents the system from migrating VMs and placing the ESXi host into Maintenance Mode.

Resolution

Implement one of the following workarounds to proceed with remediation:

  • Set the DRS automation level to Fully Automated.

  • Manually migrate the vCenter Server virtual machine to a different host in the cluster.
