VCF Operations for Networks

Issue/Introduction

  • FQDN not assigned during deployment in VCF Operations for Networks.

  • From Fleet GUI we see that FQDN already defined as per Cluster.

    See Screenshot below:
      
  • cat /etc/hosts file shows same FQDNs for the platform nodes as per above which is platform1, platform 2 and platform3

Environment

  • VCF Operations for Networks 9.0.0
  • VCF Operations for Networks 9.0.1.0

Cause

This is not a product issue.

FQDNs are not required for the VCF Operations for Network deployment, but you should configure DNS records for IP addresses consumed by Platform and Collector VMs on their respective DNS Servers.

Resolution

  1. FQDNs are not required for the VCF Operations for Network deployment.
  2. Configure DNS records for IP addresses consumed by Platform and Collector VMs on their respective DNS Servers.
