Error “Couldn't fetch manifest file for plugin Availability” when registering Cloud Director Availability (VCDA) plugin in Cloud Director

Issue/Introduction

The VCDA plugin fails to register with VMware Cloud Director.

The error below is displayed when accessing the plugin from the Cloud Director provider interface:

Couldn't fetch manifest file for plugin Availability (#######). Error: Http failure response for https://<VCD instance>/manifest.json: 404 Not Found

Environment

VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.7.x

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

This issue occurs when the credentials used to configure Cloud Director endpoints in VCDA are invalid or expired.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, update the Cloud Director Endpoint with the correct username and password in the Cloud Director Availability Provider Portal.

Steps:

  1. Navigate to the Customize Portal view in the Cloud Director Provider Portal.
  2. Select the Cloud Director Availability plug-in and click Delete.
  3. Navigate to the Configuration view in the Cloud Director Availability Provider Portal.
  4. Click Edit on Cloud Director address.
  5. In the pop-up window, re-enter the Cloud Director credentials and click Apply.
  6. Navigate to and refresh the Cloud Director Portal.
  7. The VCDA Plugin is installed and Enabled.
