Issue/Introduction

  • VM migration compatibility shows "Currently connected network interface" 'Network adapter 1' uses network 'XX-XX (Distributed-Switch)', which is not accessible.

  • DVS doesn't show any error.
  • All the hosts are part of the respective distributed switch.

Environment

VMware ESXi

VMware NSX

Cause

The cluster may have been prepared for NSX and the host being degraded state or NSX manager cluster is abruptly stopped due to non-usage which led to the controller propagation issues leading to vMotion issue.

Resolution

  • Make sure the controller connectivity is up and running.
  • If the NSX is not intended for this environment, gracefully decommission the NSX components.
