GPSSH Command Execution Takes Longer as Host Count

Issue/Introduction

Users may observe that gpssh takes noticeably longer to execute commands compared to direct ssh, even when targeting a single host. The delay becomes more pronounced as the number of hosts in the gpssh host file increases.

In contrast, executing the same command using direct ssh completes significantly faster.

GPDB 7.6.X

Resolution

- The observed behavior is by design in current releases. 

- R&D has identified the required code improvements and planned to address this issue for GPDB 7.8 , please keep a watch on release notes.
