Take snapshot feature greyed out on VM even disconnect RDM disk

Issue/Introduction

• The snapshot feature does not appear to be available on virtual machines with Raw Device Mapping (physical) and the option is greyed out
• Disconnect Raw Device Mapping disk from virtual machine, but option is still grayed out

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.x
VMware vSphere ESXi 8.x

Cause

SCSI controller bus-sharing set as "physical"

Resolution

1. Power off virtual machine
2. Right-click a virtual machine in the inventory and select Edit Settings.
3. On the Virtual Hardware tab, expand SCSI controller, and select the type of sharing in the SCSI Bus Sharing to None
